My name is Geirþrúður Ósk Geirsdóttir — but since I work in an international space, I go by Geira Geirs, simpler, easier — and still very much me.
I’m a self-taught freelance photographer, born and raised in Iceland. I hold a B.A. in History, along with a diploma in Museum Studies and Information Science — a background that naturally shaped the way I see stories, details, and the passage of time.
Growing up in Iceland has had a quiet but lasting influence on my work. The shifting light, open landscapes, and sense of stillness are things I’m constantly drawn back to, both consciously and without thinking.
Photography has always had my heart, whether it’s the vastness of a landscape or the subtle, human details that often go unnoticed.
For me, photography isn’t just about capturing an image. It’s about creating something that lingers — a mood, a memory, a sense of place.
